Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Hotel Cakmak Marble in Afyon, I had the pleasure of indulging in their culinary offerings, which truly stood out. The breakfast buffet, served in the top-floor restaurant with panoramic views of the fortress, featured traditional dishes like Keskek and Afyon Kebab. The morning sun filtering through added to the cozy atmosphere, enhancing the sensory experience. One memorable dish I relished was Keskek, its rich flavors reminiscent of home, though the texture could have benefited from a bit more care in preparation. The hotel’s a la carte options were equally captivating; I tried the Afyon Kebab, which was deliciously seasoned, showcasing local ingredients. While the restaurant ambiance was inviting, I had a few concerns. The hotel staff were polite but not highly attuned to foreign guests, making communication occasionally challenging. Nonetheless, the experience provided a vibrant glimpse into local culinary traditions. Should the opportunity arise, I would most certainly return. The chance to explore the evolving food scene in Afyon is an inviting prospect.
